Hey friends, before getting to the post, Mondays and Fridays are dedicated to helping you start the week and weekend with some reflection and introspection through a liturgy, a prayer, and a passage from the Bible.
Hope this brings you peace and encouragement.
Breath In
I cannot love well
Breath Out
When I am in a hurry
A prayer by Brother Lawrence, from, “Practicing the Presence of God”
“Lord of all pots and pans and things,
since I've no time to be a great saint
by doing lovely things,
or watching late with Thee,
or dreaming in the dawnlight,
or storming heaven's gates,
make me a saint by getting meals,
and washing up the plates.
Warm all the kitchen with Thy Love,
and light it with Thy peace;
forgive me all my worrying,
and make my grumbling cease.
Thou who didst love to give men food,
in room, or by the sea,
accept the service that I do,
I do it unto Thee.”
Amen
She [Martha] had a sister called Mary, who sat at the Lord’s feet listening to what he said. But Martha was distracted by all the preparations that had to be made. She came to him and asked, “Lord, don’t you care that my sister has left me to do the work by myself? Tell her to help me!”
“Martha, Martha,” the Lord answered, “you are worried and upset about many things, but few things are needed—or indeed only one. Mary has chosen what is better, and it will not be taken away from her.”
Luke 10:39-42
I needed this prayer today. 💛
