“You have heard that it was said, Love your neighbor and hate your enemy. But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, so that you may be children of your Father in heaven. For he causes his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous."

Matthew 5:42-45

Breathe In
Lord, help me

Breathe Out
To love like You

Jesus,

Teach me to understand
How your love and justice sends warmth from the sun
To the wicked and the innocent, the evil and the good.
How your love sends nourishing and soothing rain
To the wayward and the abiding.
Help me to see what you see
Because my eyes are veiled by pain, jealousy, confusion,
rage, bitterness, comparison, and annoyance.
Teach me so I may understand.
